Find a game, understand it, and decide what to play

BoardGame Archive is an independent publication that organizes board-game information around the questions players ask. Start with a game, learn its rules, explore a strategy decision, or compare options for your next game night.

Our growing game library covers gateway games, spatial puzzles, deck-building games, cooperative games and longer strategy games. Explore games such as Catan, Ticket to Ride Europe, Carcassonne, Kingdomino, Dominion, Patchwork, Pandemic, Wingspan and Scythe. The library lists every published game hub and the more focused guides currently available.

What you can find here

Who publishes this site

BoardGame Archive is the publishing name used for this site’s researched guides and editorial analysis. An article credited to BoardGame Archive identifies the basis of its coverage through its evidence label, edition notes and sources.

Our researched guides do not imply personal play experience. A hands-on review must identify its individual reviewer, the edition played, player counts and documented session coverage. We do not invent reviewer biographies, qualifications or playtest results.

How we approach accuracy

Factual game details and rules are checked against publisher information, official rulebooks and relevant FAQs or errata. We name the edition or variant when it changes the answer. Strategy and suitability judgments are identified as editorial analysis, with reasons and limitations.

The editorial policy and review methodology explains sourcing, AI assistance, corrections and the distinction between researched coverage and documented experience. Guides link to the relevant sources so readers can check the rules for their own edition.

Independent and growing

Game titles, artwork and trademarks belong to their owners. Coverage does not imply a publisher partnership or endorsement. Where commercial relationships apply, they are disclosed on the relevant article.

We are building the archive one useful guide at a time. Some games have a full set of teaching, rules and strategy articles; others currently have an overview. Published links show the coverage available today.

Contact and corrections

If you spot a possible rules error, an edition difference or a broken source link, use the Contact & Corrections form. Include the article URL, your game edition and any publisher source that supports the correction. Reports enter the site’s moderation queue for review.
