Don’t Break the Ice Guide: Rules, Blocks, Iceman & Strategy
Don’t Break the Ice
Tap out ice blocks one at a time while keeping the Iceman standing safely on top.
Hasbro 04784 is a simple physical-balance game with 33 ice blocks, two mallets and an Iceman figure. Players remove blocks while trying not to collapse the surface beneath him.
Why it matters
The core search questions are practical: which blocks can be tapped, whether a block must fall completely, what ends the game and how to set the frame correctly.
Game at a Glance
Ice Blocks
The frame supports one large and 32 small blocks.
One Block
Tap out one block on your turn.
Use the Mallet
Remove blocks with controlled taps.
Keep Him Up
If the Iceman falls through, that turn loses the challenge.
Rules overview
Build the ice surface inside the frame, place the Iceman on top and take turns tapping out blocks with a mallet. Remove one block at a time without causing the figure to fall through. The player who causes the collapse loses; the last player to complete a safe turn wins.
Key decisions
Choose blocks that carry less visible load, avoid creating unsupported gaps beneath the figure and use light repeated taps rather than one uncontrolled strike.
