Cascadia Wildlife Token Placement Rules: Icons, Empty Tiles & Placement
After drafting in Cascadia, you place both the Habitat Tile and Wildlife Token you selected. The wildlife does not have to go on the Habitat Tile you just drafted.
Habitat Tile placement
Your new Habitat Tile must be placed adjacent to at least one tile already in your environment. It may be rotated freely.
Do habitat edges have to match?
No. Matching terrain is useful for scoring corridors, but it is not a placement requirement.
Where can the Wildlife Token go?
Place it on any empty Habitat Tile in your environment that displays that wildlife species among its allowed wildlife icons.
Can a tile hold more than one Wildlife Token?
No. A Habitat Tile can hold at most one Wildlife Token.
Must the wildlife go on the new tile?
No. You may put the token on the tile you just placed or on any other eligible empty Habitat Tile already in your ecosystem.
What if you cannot place the wildlife?
If no eligible empty tile can support it—or if you choose not to place it—return that Wildlife Token to the cloth bag.
When does a Keystone Tile give a Nature Token?
If you place the Keystone Tile’s matching Wildlife Token onto it, immediately gain a Nature Token.
