Kemet Combat & Victory Rules: Strength, Damage and 9 VP

Kemet separates who wins the battle from how many units survive it. Strength decides the winner first; casualties are resolved afterward.

War Council: choose two Battle cards

Each player secretly chooses one Battle card to play and another to discard face down unused. Eligible DI cards may be committed under the played card.

Strength determines the winner

Total Strength equals Units plus Battle-card Strength plus Power, Creature and DI bonuses, with the City-district defender bonus when applicable. Higher total wins; ties go to the defender.

Then resolve casualties

First apply the opponent’s unblockable damage. Then apply normal Damage minus your Defense. A player can win the Strength comparison and still lose every Unit afterward.

Attacker Battle VP requires a surviving Troop

If the attacker wins and still has a Troop in the battle zone, the attacker gains 1 permanent Battle VP. Winning while your whole Troop dies still counts as winning the battle, but it does not satisfy that surviving-Troop reward condition.

Permanent and temporary VP

Permanent VP cannot normally be lost and can come from battle, certain Power tiles and Divine rewards. Temporary VP comes from controlling Temples and level-4 Pyramids and transfers when control changes.

Exact victory check

On your turn, before playing an Action token, check your current total. If you have at least 9 VP and no other player has more VP than you, you immediately win.
