How to Play Beyond the Sun: Technology, Economy & Colonies
Beyond the Sun is a technology-tree strategy game. Research does more than score—it unlocks new shared action spaces that reshape what every faction can do.
Take one unlocked action
Choose an action currently available through the technology tree or your player board and resolve it.
Research technologies
Spend the required resources to discover or advance technologies. New technology cards create stronger actions and open higher-level branches.
Improve population and ore economy
Your player board manages cubes between supply tracks and action capacity. Moving cubes changes both production and future costs.
Deploy and move ships
Ships enter the system map, contest control and support colonization.
Colonize systems
Meet the local requirements to establish control over systems and gain their bonuses or scoring value.
Achievements
Shared achievements reward major milestones such as development, research or expansion. Completing enough achievements drives the game toward its end.
Production
At the end of your turn, generate resources according to your current economy.
Game end
When enough achievements are completed, finish the prescribed final sequence and score technologies, systems, achievements and other end-game categories.
