How to Play Andromeda’s Edge: Starships, Modules & Raiders
Andromeda’s Edge is a worker-placement game where your workers are starships. Ships travel to action regions, can become involved in combat and later return to an expanding modular starbase.
Scope: Cardboard Alchemy base game; Escalation excluded.
Deploy a starship
Send one available ship to a legal region and resolve that region’s worker-placement action.
Resolve encounters
Some regions contain raiders or rival ships. Conflict can occur before or after the action depending on the encounter timing and board state.
Gather resources
Use region actions to acquire materials, credits and other resources needed for modules, research and ship development.
Build starbase modules
Attach modules to your personal starbase to create production, conversion, scoring and action synergies.
Upgrade ships
Different ship classes and upgrades change movement, combat and action efficiency.
Advance progress tracks
Commerce, science/research, supremacy and related tracks reward different styles of development and can produce both immediate and final value.
Recall
When you recall, ships return and your starbase/module engine can generate resources and effects under the recall rules.
Game end
After the final round/end condition, score modules, progress tracks, achievements and other base-game categories.
