Heat: Heavy Rain Expansion Guide
Heat: Heavy Rain adds two tracks, a complete extra player set and new upgrade/event content. Its signature mechanisms are the puddles on the Japan track and the chicanes on Mexico.
What Heavy Rain adds
- Double-sided board with 2 tracks
- Japan and Mexico Track cards
- 1 extra race car, gear pawn and player mat
- 12 Basic cards, 15 Heat and 5 Stress cards
- 15 Upgrade cards
- 7 Sponsorship cards and 4 Event cards
Japan: puddles
The Japan Grand Prix takes place after heavy rain. Puddles before dangerous curves reduce your ability to slow down, so corner preparation must start earlier.
Mexico: chicanes
Mexico creates repeated speed-management pressure through multiple chicanes. A strong straight-line hand is less valuable if you cannot control speed repeatedly.
Air Intake upgrades
Heavy Rain includes Air Intake upgrade cards designed to help manage Heat under the new track conditions.
1964 Championship season
The expansion includes track/event material for a 1964 Championship season that can be integrated into the base game’s Championship system.
Seventh player
The box includes a full extra player set. With the base game, Heavy Rain therefore raises the human player count from six to seven.
Who should add Heavy Rain?
Heavy Rain is the strongest first Heat expansion for groups that mainly want new tracks and another human seat without changing the core hand-management rules.
