Slay the Spire: The Board Game

Build decks cooperatively, fight enemies, gain relics, upgrade cards and climb through increasingly dangerous acts.

♟1–4 Players◷45 Min/Player♜Ages 12+⚙Medium

Adapt the acclaimed roguelike video game into a cooperative deck-building campaign that can be played one act at a time or continued across multiple acts.

Why We Love It

Each character builds differently, and cooperative card timing creates tactical interactions that do not exist in the solo digital game.

Rules overview

Choose a character with a starting deck, move through encounters, defeat enemies and collect card rewards and relics. Cards can be upgraded or removed as the deck develops. An act ends with a boss; players may stop, save progress or continue to later acts.

Key decisions

Editorial analysis: Deck quality matters more than deck size. Adding a merely useful card can reduce the frequency of your strongest combinations, so rewards should be judged against the cards already in your engine.
