The Quacks of Quedlinburg
Pull ingredients from your personal bag, build a potion farther around your cauldron and decide when to stop before too many cherry bombs make it explode.
Each round, draw ingredient chips from your personal bag one at a time and place them along your cauldron track.
You may stop voluntarily, or keep drawing for a stronger reward while risking too many cherry bombs. Shopping between rounds improves the bag, changing both the upside and the probability of future draws.
Why We Love It
The Quacks of Quedlinburg makes improvement and risk visible at the same time. Better ingredients push your potion farther, but every extra draw may reveal the cherry bomb that makes the pot explode.

What is The Quacks of Quedlinburg?
The Quacks of Quedlinburg is Wolfgang Warsch’s potion-brewing push-your-luck game. CMYK’s current Standard Edition keeps the classic game while updating the presentation.
Each player draws ingredient chips from a personal bag and places them around a cauldron, trying to travel farther without exceeding the safe total of white cherry-bomb chips.
How the game works
During each round, players draw ingredients one at a time. Each ingredient advances the potion marker according to its printed value and can have a special effect based on the ingredient book in use.
If the total value of white chips becomes too high, the pot explodes. Players who stop safely can usually take both scoring and purchasing benefits; exploded pots face a harsher choice.
The decisions that define it
The key decision is when to stop. A stronger bag lowers risk over time, but even a well-built bag can produce a dangerous sequence.
Purchasing also matters because buying high-value ingredients improves movement while special powers can manipulate odds, income or future draws.
Who is it for?
Choose Quacks if your group enjoys suspense, luck management and fast simultaneous turns more than deterministic calculation.
