Rules overview
On an encounter, reveal the destiny target, launch ships through the hyperspace gate, invite allies and select encounter cards. Attack totals compare ships plus card value, while negotiation cards can create deals or compensation. Alien powers, flare cards and artifacts may alter the normal sequence.
Key decisions
Editorial analysis: Treat alliances as transactions rather than permanent teams. Before committing ships, ask what an ally gains if your side wins. When choosing encounter cards, consider not only the current battle but also what information and leverage your play reveals for later negotiations.
