The Resistance: Avalon
The Resistance: Avalon explained: hidden roles, team proposals, mission votes, Merlin, Mordred and the final assassination.
Players receive hidden roles on the forces of Good or Evil, with asymmetric information depending on which optional characters are included.
Leaders propose mission teams, everyone votes on the proposal, and approved teams secretly determine whether the mission succeeds or fails.
Why We Love It
Avalon creates deduction without player elimination. Every proposal, vote and mission result becomes public evidence, while Merlin’s extra information creates a second puzzle around staying hidden.

Rules overview
Assign roles and complete the information phase. A leader proposes the required number of players for a mission, then all players vote to approve or reject the team. If approved, mission members secretly submit mission cards; Good must support success while Evil may sabotage. Good wins after three successful missions unless the Assassin correctly identifies Merlin; Evil can also win by causing three mission failures.
Key decisions
Editorial analysis: Treat voting history as evidence but not proof. Evil players can support successful missions to build trust, and Good players can vote against good teams for strategic reasons. Merlin should guide discussion without producing a pattern so accurate that the Assassin can identify them.
Common questions

Indie Boards & Cards lists 5–10 players.
Can Good play a failure card?
