Agricola Scoring Explained: Fields, Animals, Rooms & Penalties
Agricola Revised Edition scores after the harvest of round 14. The score sheet rewards a developed, balanced farm and penalizes both missing categories and unused farmyard spaces.

Fields
Score field tiles, whether planted or empty: 0–1 fields = -1 point; 2 = 1; 3 = 2; 4 = 3; 5+ = 4.
Pastures
Count fenced pasture areas, not individual pasture spaces. No pastures = -1 point. Each pasture scores 1 point up to a maximum of 4 points.
Grain and vegetables
- Grain: none = -1; at least 1/4/6/8 grain = 1/2/3/4 points.
- Vegetables: none = -1; 1/2/3/4+ vegetables = 1/2/3/4 points.
Count crops in your personal supply and on your fields. Some cards can also explicitly hold crops that belong to you.
Sheep, wild boar and cattle
- Sheep: none = -1; at least 1/4/6/8 = 1/2/3/4 points.
- Wild boar: none = -1; at least 1/3/5/7 = 1/2/3/4 points.
- Cattle: none = -1; at least 1/2/4/6 = 1/2/3/4 points.
Unused farmyard spaces
Lose 1 point for every unused farmyard space. Rooms, field tiles, fenced spaces and spaces containing a stable count as used; some cards can also define spaces as used.
Fenced stables
Each stable inside a pasture is worth 1 point, normally up to 4 points. An unfenced stable does not score in this category, although its space is still considered used for the unused-space penalty.
Rooms and family members
- Clay rooms: 1 point each.
- Stone rooms: 2 points each.
- Family members in play: 3 points each.
Wooden rooms do not provide the room points listed above, which is why renovation can matter even when it arrives late.
Improvement points and bonus points
Add printed points from face-up Major and Minor Improvements. Then add card-specific bonus points and any bonus points recorded during play. Occupations do not automatically score printed points unless their text creates a scoring effect.
Begging markers
Each begging marker is worth -3 points. These penalties are included in the bonus-point portion of the official score sheet.
