Castle Combo Scoring: Scrolls, Purses, Keys & Tiebreaks
Castle Combo ends after every player places their ninth character and completes a 3×3 tableau.
Purse scoring first
Place leftover Gold onto cards with purse-scoring icons, up to each purse’s printed capacity. Only Gold stored through a purse-scoring effect contributes points from that effect.
Score every face-up character’s scroll
Read each scoring scroll and calculate its condition using only your own tableau. Conditions can reference shield types, banners, position, rows, columns, sets, missing icons or stored Gold.
Face-down cards score zero
A card turned face down by an effect contributes no scoring-scroll points and no normal tableau information unless a rule specifically says otherwise.
Keys: 1 point each
Every Key remaining at game end is worth 1 point.
Unstored Gold scores zero
Gold not placed onto a purse-scoring card is not worth normal victory points, but keep it because it is used for the first tiebreak.
Winner and ties
Highest score wins. If tied, the tied player with the most leftover Gold wins. If still tied, the tied players share victory.
