How to Play Bunny Kingdom: Drafting, Fiefs & Harvest Scoring
Bunny Kingdom is a card-drafting and area-building game played over four rounds. You draft cards, place Rabbits onto matching map territories, construct buildings, then score each connected fief from its Strength × Wealth. Secret Parchment missions score after the fourth round.
What is the goal?
Score the most Golden Carrots by creating valuable connected fiefs and completing Parchment objectives. A fief is one territory or a group of your territories connected orthogonally—up, down, left or right.
What happens in a round?
Each round has three phases:
- Exploration: draft and play cards.
- Construction: place eligible Buildings you have collected.
- Harvest: score your fiefs.
After the fourth Harvest, reveal and score your Parchments. The player with the most points wins.
Exploration: draft two cards
Players choose two cards from their current hand, place them face down, then pass the remaining hand to the next player. Everyone reveals and resolves the chosen cards, receives the passed hand, and repeats until the draft is finished.
Territory cards
A Territory card shows coordinates that identify one map space. Place one of your Rabbits on that Territory. Controlling adjacent territories is how you create and enlarge fiefs.
Building cards
Building cards give you a Building token to place during Construction, subject to its placement requirements. Cities increase a fief’s Strength; resource-producing Buildings can increase its Wealth.
Parchment cards
Keep Parchments face down until the end of the game. They contain Missions and Treasures that score only after the fourth round, so rivals do not know exactly what you are pursuing.
Provisions cards
Resolve these immediately as instructed, typically drawing and playing additional cards before continuing the draft.
Construction phase
After the draft, you may place some or all Buildings you acquired. In general, Buildings must be placed on territories you control and must obey their printed placement requirements. Once a Building is placed, it cannot be moved.
Camps are an exception with their own placement rule, so check the component/rulebook wording when using them.
Harvest: Strength × Wealth
Every fief scores separately at the end of each round:
Fief score = Strength × Wealth.
- Strength is the total number of city towers in that connected fief.
- Wealth is the number of different Resources produced by that fief.
Duplicating a resource does not increase Wealth by itself. Expanding into a new resource type often matters more than collecting another copy of a resource you already produce.
What counts as connected?
Your territories must touch along an edge. Diagonal contact does not connect fiefs. Some board features can also prevent normal connection, so follow the map’s printed boundaries.
End of the game
After the fourth Harvest, reveal Parchments and score their printed rewards. Add those points to the Harvest points you accumulated during play. Highest total wins.
Common beginner mistakes
- Counting diagonal territories as connected.
- Counting duplicate resources as extra Wealth.
- Forgetting that Harvest scoring happens after every round, not only at the end.
- Building cities without enough different resources to multiply their Strength.
- Ignoring Parchments until the last draft.
