Decrypto Win Conditions: Interceptions, Miscommunication & Ties
Decrypto can end because a team successfully intercepts enough enemy codes or because a team repeatedly fails to decode its own clues.
Interceptions are the positive victory route
When your team correctly predicts the opposing team’s three-digit code, gain an interception token. Reaching the standard required number of interceptions creates a win condition.
Miscommunication is the loss route
If your own team cannot correctly decode its Encryptor’s code, gain a miscommunication token. Accumulating the standard maximum number of these tokens causes your team to lose.
Both conditions can matter in the same round
Because each team can gain tokens during one round, more than one end condition can potentially be reached together. Use the official end-of-round resolution sequence rather than declaring a winner the instant a token is placed.
Use the rulebook’s tie procedure if thresholds coincide
If both teams satisfy end conditions simultaneously, resolve the printed tiebreak procedure, which considers token totals and the additional code challenge specified by the rules where necessary.
