Gaia Project Scoring: Final Tiles, Research & Leftover Resources

Gaia Project ends after round 6. Players keep all VP scored during the game, then add three main final-scoring categories: the two final-scoring ranking tiles, research progress and leftover resources.

Final-scoring tiles: 18 / 12 / 6 / 0 VP

For each of the two final-scoring tiles, rank players by the matching condition. First place scores 18 VP, second 12, third 6 and fourth 0.

The possible conditions include structures in federations, total structures, different planet types, Gaia Planets, occupied sectors and satellites. The exact two tiles are selected during setup.

Ties on a final tile split the occupied ranks

If players tie, add the VP for the ranks they jointly occupy and divide that total evenly. For example, two players tied for first divide the first- and second-place rewards: 18 + 12 = 30, so each receives 15 VP.

Research scores 4 VP for each reached level 3, 4 and 5

Check all six research tracks. Reaching level 3 is worth 4 final VP from that track; level 4 is worth 8 total; level 5 is worth 12 total. Levels 0–2 do not contribute final research VP.

Leftover credits, knowledge and ore convert at 3:1

Combine your remaining credits, knowledge and ore. Gain 1 VP for every 3 of those resources in any combination. Q.I.C. and ordinary power are not part of this basic leftover-resource conversion.

Do not forget VP already scored during play

Your final total also includes all VP already recorded from round-scoring tiles, federation tokens, tech tiles, faction effects, passing bonuses and other game effects. Final scoring adds to the existing track total rather than replacing it.

Winner and tie rule

The player with the most VP wins. If the final totals are tied, the tied players share the victory.
