Ticket to Ride Europe Scoring: Routes, Tickets, Stations & Longest Path
Ticket to Ride Europe scoring combines route points recorded during play, completed destination tickets, penalties for incomplete tickets, 4 points per unused station and the 10-point European Express bonus for the longest qualifying continuous path.
Researched rules guide. Checked September 20, 2026 against the current Days of Wonder English rules used by our complete guide. Editorial standards.
Route points are scored immediately
When you claim a route, move your score marker by that route length’s printed scoring-table value. Do not score those same route points again at the end.
Destination tickets can add or subtract
For each ticket, add its printed value if your network connects the named cities. If it is incomplete, subtract that value. Multiple tickets may use the same owned routes.
Stations can rescue tickets, but unused stations score
A built station can borrow one opponent-owned route at that city for destination-ticket completion under the station rules. Borrowed routes do not give you route points or European Express length.
Each station you never built is worth 4 final points.
European Express is worth 10
The player or tied players with the longest continuous path of their own trains receive the 10-point European Express bonus. Borrowed routes through stations do not count. See the longest-path guide for loops and branches.
Worked total
Suppose route points already total 54. Completed tickets add 31, one failed ticket subtracts 8, two unused stations add 8 and European Express adds 10. Final score: 54 + 31 − 8 + 8 + 10 = 95.
Tiebreak order
If totals tie, compare most completed tickets, then fewest built stations, then possession of the European Express bonus. The current Europe rulebook gives no further tiebreak after those tests.
