The Great Zimbabwe Victory Requirement: Monuments, Gods & Targets
The Great Zimbabwe does not give every player the same finishing target. Your personal Victory Requirement changes as you acquire powerful abilities.
Start with the base Victory Requirement
Every player begins with the same base target defined by setup. Your monument progress is compared against this target rather than against a shared fixed VP line.
Gods increase your target
Choosing a God grants a major asymmetric ability but adds the printed amount to your Victory Requirement.
Specialists can increase it too
Many specialist powers also carry a Victory Requirement modifier. Add all relevant modifiers to know the actual height/progress you need to win.
Monument growth is the main race
Ritual goods are used to raise monuments. Your combined monument scoring/progress is measured against your personal target using the official victory procedure.
Raw monument size can be misleading
A player with smaller monuments may be closer to winning if they accepted fewer target-increasing powers. Always compare each player’s progress with their own requirement.
Victory check
When a player reaches the required target, apply the exact end/check timing from the rulebook to determine the winner. The game rewards reaching your personal requirement, not simply having the tallest single monument.
