How to Play Nusfjord Big Box: Fishing, Elders & Shares
Nusfjord Big Box contains the complete base game plus four card decks. The core game lasts seven rounds, each with Fishing, Work and Returning Home phases.
Scope: Lookout Games 2024 Big Box; use one selected building deck per game, including the newer decks where chosen.
Fishing Phase
Determine your catch from the fishing track, then distribute fish in the required order among shares, Elders and your personal supply.
Work Phase
Players alternate placing workers on available action spaces.
Use Elders
Elders provide powerful actions but must be supplied with fish to remain useful under the council rules.
Build ships
Ships improve your fishing track and increase future catches.
Build buildings
Buildings provide immediate, ongoing or end-game effects. The selected deck changes the strategic environment.
Manage forests and wood
Clear forests and acquire wood to finance construction while preserving enough long-term flexibility.
Shares
Issuing and acquiring shares changes how fish are distributed and can create income and final scoring implications.
Game end
After round seven, score buildings, shares, ships, resources and the active deck’s end-game effects.
