How to Play Wayfarers of the South Tigris
Wayfarers of the South Tigris is a dice-worker and tableau-building game about mapping the Abbasid world. Players combine dice, workers, cards and journal progress to build a personal panorama of discoveries.
Scope: Garphill Games base game; expansions excluded.
Use dice as workers
Your dice are assigned to actions where color and value affect what can be done. Workers and card effects can modify access and efficiency.
Acquire land and water cards
Add landscape and water cards to your panorama, paying their costs and following placement restrictions.
Build your panorama
Cards create sets, tags and spatial relationships that feed income, journal requirements and end-game scoring.
Advance the journal
The journal tracks your expedition’s progress. Moving forward requires meeting the displayed conditions and can unlock rewards.
Recruit townsfolk
Townsfolk cards provide abilities, icons and scoring opportunities that support particular tableau plans.
Influence guilds
Guild tracks create competition for position and contribute to final scoring and rewards.
Game end
When the journal/end condition is met, complete the prescribed final sequence and score panorama cards, journal progress, guild influence and other base-game categories.
