Dominant Species Dominance & Scoring Explained
Dominant Species separates simple area majority from ecological dominance.
Tile scoring
When a terrain tile scores, players receive VP according to the number of species cubes they have there and the tile’s printed scoring table.
Majority
Having the most cubes determines first place in normal area scoring.
Dominance
Dominance is calculated from how well a species’ adapted elements match the elements present on the tile.
Dominant species reward
The dominant species on a scored tile can gain the additional Domination-card benefit where the action allows it.
Glaciation scoring
Glaciation can trigger immediate scoring and then changes the tile to tundra for future survival and scoring.
Final Ice Age scoring
At the end, resolve the final board scoring required by the Ice Age/endgame procedure.
Winner
Highest VP wins after final scoring.
