Sequence Jack Rules: One-Eyed vs Two-Eyed Jacks
Jacks are the special cards in Sequence. Their effect depends on whether the card shows two eyes or one eye.
Two-eyed Jacks
Two-eyed Jacks are wild placement cards. Play one to place your chip on an eligible open space.
One-eyed Jacks
One-eyed Jacks remove one eligible opposing chip from the board instead of placing your own chip.
Can you remove a chip from a completed Sequence?
Under standard rules, chips forming an already completed Sequence are protected from one-eyed Jack removal.
Do Jacks correspond to printed Jack spaces?
No. The board omits normal Jack card spaces because Jacks have special powers rather than ordinary matching locations.
When should a Jack be saved?
A two-eyed Jack can finish a difficult line; a one-eyed Jack can break an opponent’s near-complete line. Their flexibility generally increases late in the game.
