How to Play Sequence: Cards, Chips, Jacks & Lines of Five
Sequence combines playing cards with a board of matching card spaces. On your turn, play one card and place one chip on an open matching space.
Goal
A Sequence is a connected line of five chips horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The number of Sequences required to win depends on the player/team setup.
Basic turn
- Play one card from your hand.
- Place your chip on one matching open board space.
- Draw back up from the deck according to the rules.
Corner spaces
The four corner spaces are free and count for every player/team when completing a Sequence.
Jacks
Two-eyed Jacks are wild placement cards. One-eyed Jacks remove an opponent’s eligible chip instead.
Dead cards
If both matching spaces for a card in your hand are already covered, the card can qualify as a dead card under the replacement rule.
