Skull Challenge & Win Rules: Reveals, Failed Bids and Elimination
Skull has no point total. The game is won by completing two successful challenges, while failed challenges cost you pieces and can eliminate you.
Bidding starts instead of placing a disc
When a player starts a challenge, they announce a number of discs. Going around the table, each other player either raises the bid or passes. A player who passes is out of that challenge.
The highest bidder reveals first from their own stack
The challenger must reveal all discs they personally placed, top to bottom as required, before selecting the remaining discs from opponents’ stacks.
A skull ends the challenge immediately
As soon as the challenger reveals a skull, they fail. They do not continue revealing toward the original bid number.
Failed challenger loses a disc
Remove one of the challenger’s discs using the exact procedure determined by whose skull was revealed. The lost disc remains unknown to opponents where the rulebook requires secrecy.
No discs means elimination
If a player loses their final disc, they can no longer continue and are eliminated from the game.
Two successful challenges wins immediately
If a player completes their second challenge without exposing a skull, the game ends and that player wins.
