Through the Ages Scoring & Military Rules Explained

Through the Ages uses culture as its victory score. Military strength affects survival and political outcomes but is not itself the main point total.

Culture during play

Buildings, leaders, Wonders and card effects can generate culture immediately or through recurring production.

Final event scoring

Late military/event cards can create final scoring categories based on science, strength, population, buildings and other civilization features.

Military strength

Strength is calculated from military units, tactics and relevant card effects. Higher strength protects against aggressions and can improve political outcomes.

Aggressions

Aggressions target weaker rivals and resolve using the current rules for strength, defense and card support.

Wars

Wars create delayed conflict and can transfer culture or resources based on the eventual strength difference.

Culture wins

After the final age and all required end-game effects, the civilization with the highest culture total wins.
