Editorial analysis: Survival and scoring are different goals. A species can dominate a tile without having the most cubes there.
Plan for execution order
An action chosen early may resolve much later. Consider what other players can change before your pawn activates.
Adapt before the environment turns hostile
Elements determine where your species can survive and dominate. Add the right elements before Wasteland, Depletion or Glaciation creates losses.
Use Glaciation for both points and denial
A well-timed tundra tile can score immediately while disrupting rivals’ strongest regions.
Domination is about element match
Do not confuse most cubes with dominance. Calculate which species matches the terrain’s elements best.
Competition should change scoring
Remove rivals where doing so flips a coming majority or dominance result rather than simply reducing cube count.
Late game: prioritize immediate scoring
As Ice Age approaches, long-term adaptation matters less than Domination, Glaciation and high-value tile control.
