Sorry! contains substantial luck, but flexible cards create recurring choices about pawn development, risk and disruption.

Get more than one pawn into play

A single advanced pawn is easy to target and can waste future movement cards. Multiple active pawns give you more legal options and reduce the impact of one bump.

Use a 7 for flexibility

Splitting seven spaces can solve two problems at once: advance one pawn toward HOME while repositioning another away from danger or onto a useful lane.

Evaluate switches by position, not distance alone

An 11 switch is strongest when it moves you near your safety-zone entry while sending an opponent far backward. Avoid switches that place your pawn in an exposed high-risk space without enough gain.

Respect slide entrances

A pawn parked on or near an opponent-colored slide entrance can be vulnerable to a large swing. Conversely, landing on an enemy slide can combine movement with multiple bumps.

Plan exact-count Home entries

A pawn near HOME can become awkward if only a few exact card values finish it. Keep another pawn active so unusable cards still have productive targets.
