How to Play Sorry!: Setup, Cards, Bumping, Safety Zone & Home
Sorry! is a race to move all four pawns of your color from START to HOME.
Setup
Choose a color and place all four pawns on its START area. Shuffle the card deck face down. Choose a first player; play moves clockwise.
Draw one card
On your turn, draw the top card and follow its instructions if possible. Then discard it face up.
Starting a pawn
A pawn can leave START only with a 1 or a 2. A 1 starts a pawn or moves a pawn forward one. A 2 starts a pawn or moves forward two, then you draw again and take another move if possible.
Jumping and bumping
You may jump over any pawn, counting that space normally. If you land on an opponent’s pawn, bump it back to its START. Pawns of the same color cannot occupy the same space.
Slides
If exact movement lands you on the triangle at the start of a slide that is not your own color, move to the end of the slide and bump any pawns on it—including your own.
Safety zone and Home
Only your pawns can enter your safety zone. Move into HOME by exact count. Once a pawn reaches HOME, it stays there for the rest of the game.
Winning
The first player to get all four pawns HOME wins.
