Cootie Game Guide: Rules, Spinner, Wild Bug & Strategy
Cootie
Spin for bug parts, build your Cootie piece by piece and be the first player to complete the whole creature.
Hasbro F3100 is a spinner-driven preschool building game. Players collect the exact bug parts their spinner gives them, with the Wild Bug acting as a flexible choice.
Why it matters
The current spinner edition differs from older die-based Cootie sets. It also includes Switcheroo and Head Start variants, so edition-specific coverage prevents rules from being mixed together.
Game at a Glance
Six Legs
A complete bug needs all six.
Wild Bug
Choose any one missing part.
One Spin
Collect the part shown if you still need it.
Complete the Bug
First complete Cootie wins.
Rules overview
Lay out the parts and spinner. The youngest player chooses first and takes the first turn. Spin; if the arrow points to a part you still need, take and attach it. If it points to a part you already have, the turn ends. A Wild Bug result lets you choose any one missing part. First complete bug wins.
Key decisions
Base Cootie is mostly luck-driven. The main choice appears on a Wild Bug result, where you should take a part that is hardest to complete later—usually a unique one-off component rather than another leg.
