What is Camel Up?
Camel Up is a 3–8-player betting game built around a chaotic camel race. The current 2018 edition uses a redesigned pyramid, engraved dice and two rogue camels that run in the opposite direction.
Players do not control one camel. Instead, they bet on which camels will lead each leg and which will win or lose the full race.
How the game works
On a turn, players can take betting tickets, place a spectator tile, bet on the overall winner or loser, or release a die from the pyramid to move a camel.
Camels stack, and when a camel moves it carries any camels on top of it. This makes the visible race order unstable even when several dice have already been used.
The decisions that define it
Early bets are more valuable but less certain. Waiting provides information but reduces the available payout.
Spectator tiles and end-race bets reward reading the remaining dice and stack order rather than simply backing the camel currently in front.
Who is it for?
Choose Camel Up if you want a 30-minute large-group game where spectatorship, probability and table reactions are part of the fun.
