Twilight Imperium: Fourth Edition
Build a galactic empire through expansion, trade, technology, negotiation, warfare and political agendas in a multi-hour space strategy epic.
Lead an asymmetric civilization through exploration, trade, technology, warfare and political negotiation across a shared galaxy.
Public objectives drive the victory race, while strategy cards, command tokens and the agenda phase shape how players interact and when they can act.
Why We Love It
Twilight Imperium works because the map, economy and politics all matter at once. Winning usually requires negotiation and objective timing, not simply building the largest fleet.

What is Twilight Imperium: Fourth Edition?
Twilight Imperium: Fourth Edition is Fantasy Flight Games’ 2017 galactic strategy game for 3–6 players. The publisher lists a 4–8 hour play time and age 14+.
Each player leads one of 17 base-game factions, expands across a modular galaxy and pursues public and secret objectives while trade, warfare and political negotiation reshape the board.
How the game works
Rounds revolve around strategy cards, command tokens and tactical activations. Players move fleets, claim planets, produce units, research technologies and use faction abilities to pursue objectives.
The agenda phase introduces table-wide political votes, while trade goods, promissory notes and negotiation make agreements between players a major part of the system.
The decisions that define it
Victory points come from objectives rather than simple territorial dominance, so military strength is useful only when it advances scoring or prevents rivals from scoring.
Command-token economy, timing and diplomacy are tightly connected: a powerful fleet in the wrong place can be less valuable than a modest force that protects the next objective.
Who is it for?
Choose Twilight Imperium Fourth Edition if your group wants a full-day strategy event built around negotiation, shifting alliances and multiple routes to objectives.
Choose War of the Ring for a more focused two-side epic or Scythe for a shorter economic conflict game.
