Dune: Imperium
Use cards both to place Agents and to build your deck, compete for faction influence and fight over round-by-round conflicts on Arrakis.
Players use cards to send Agents to board spaces, collect resources, gain faction influence and prepare troops for conflicts over Arrakis.
When your Agents are spent, remaining cards are revealed for persuasion and combat strength. That dual-use card system creates the core tension between board access now and a stronger reveal turn later.
Why We Love It
Dune: Imperium makes every card serve two possible purposes. Playing a card to send an Agent means giving up its reveal effect for that round, so deck building and worker placement are directly connected.

What is Dune: Imperium?
Dune: Imperium is Paul Dennen’s strategy game set on Arrakis. Each leader starts with a small deck and Agents, then uses cards to send those Agents to worker-placement spaces tied to political factions, resources and military positioning.
The same cards not used for Agent placement are later revealed for purchasing power and combat strength.
How the game works
Players alternate Agent turns, playing one card to send an Agent to a matching board space and resolving that location. When a player stops placing Agents, they take a Reveal turn using the remainder of the hand.
Revealed cards provide Persuasion to buy Imperium Row cards and Swords for the current Conflict. Influence with the Emperor, Spacing Guild, Bene Gesserit and Fremen provides additional rewards and victory-point opportunities.
The decisions that define it
Every card creates a split decision: spend it early for its board-space icon or preserve it for its Reveal effects. Deck construction therefore changes both where you can go and what your end-of-round economy can do.
Combat is another timing layer because troops committed to one Conflict are no longer freely available for the next.
Who is it for?
Choose Dune: Imperium if your group likes hybrid systems, direct competition and a theme that is integrated into both worker placement and faction influence.
For a less confrontational hybrid, compare Lost Ruins of Arnak.
