Hallertau
Place workers on increasingly expensive action spaces, rotate fields, raise sheep, play card combinations and advance your Bavarian village.
Develop a hop-growing community in Bavaria using a flexible worker-placement system, changing field fertility and a large deck of tactical and long-term cards.
Why We Love It
Hallertau lets players reuse occupied action spaces by paying more workers, which makes timing and labor efficiency more important than simple blocking.
Rules overview
Workers are assigned to action spaces across several boards. Previously used spaces remain available but cost additional workers. Fields change productivity depending on cultivation and fallow periods, sheep age through rounds, and cards provide immediate or conditional benefits. Resources are spent to move craft buildings and advance the community center.
Key decisions
Editorial analysis: Worker efficiency is the core constraint. Paying extra workers for a premium action is worthwhile only when it completes a card chain or advances the community center enough to justify the lost actions elsewhere.
