Pandemic Legacy: Season 1
Fight a year-long cooperative disease crisis where characters, cities and rules can change permanently from one game to the next.
Begin with a structure similar to Pandemic: move specialists, treat disease, share cards and discover cures.
Across a year-long campaign, sealed content introduces permanent changes to rules, characters and the board, making earlier decisions matter in later sessions.
Why We Love It
Pandemic Legacy keeps the familiar cooperative core but makes consequences persist. New rules, altered cities and changing characters mean the campaign evolves based on what the group has already done.

What is Pandemic Legacy: Season 1?
Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 is a stand-alone cooperative legacy game by Matt Leacock and Rob Daviau for 2–4 players. Z-Man Games lists a 60-minute play time and age 13+.
The campaign begins from the familiar Pandemic framework, then changes month by month as sealed material, new rules and permanent board and character effects enter play.
How the game works
Players still travel between cities, treat disease cubes, share knowledge and work toward cures while the infection deck pushes new outbreaks onto the map.
The legacy layer adds consequences between sessions: characters can gain scars, cities can become increasingly unstable and new information changes the campaign as the calendar advances.
The decisions that define it
Short-term efficiency is only part of the problem. A move that saves the current game may leave the campaign in a weaker position later, so teams must balance immediate containment with long-term resilience.
Role coordination remains central, but changing rules and persistent damage force the group to revise plans instead of relying on one solved opening.
Who is it for?
Choose Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 if your group wants cooperative strategy with a continuing story and permanent consequences.
Choose Pandemic if you want a resettable one-session challenge, or Gloomhaven for a much heavier tactical campaign.
