Pandemic Legacy Season 1 Campaign Progression: Months, Wins & Losses

Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 tells a January-to-December campaign. The important structural rule is that the campaign continues whether you win or lose; results change how quickly the calendar advances and what support or persistent consequences carry forward.

No story spoilers. This page covers only the public campaign framework.

Each month can contain one or two games

Begin with the current month’s setup, objectives and Legacy instructions. If the team wins the first game of a month, advance to the next month. If the team loses, the campaign normally allows a second attempt at that same month before moving on according to the campaign rules.

Always resolve the Legacy deck when instructed

The Legacy deck controls timed story changes. Stop when instructed, read only the current card/section, and apply stickers, opened packages, rules and component changes exactly when told. Do not browse ahead.

Board and character changes persist

City status, stickers, scars, unlocked roles, abilities and other permanent changes remain from game to game. Do not reset the board to ordinary Pandemic between sessions.

Funding responds to campaign results

Funding determines how many funded Event cards can be included in the Player deck. The campaign adjusts funding based on recent wins/losses, helping the difficulty respond to performance. Follow the current campaign record rather than using the starting number indefinitely.

End-of-game choices become future setup

After a game, resolve the instructed upgrades and record changes before packing away. Those choices are part of the next game’s starting state, which is why campaign administration should be completed while the group still remembers the result.

The campaign score is resolved after December

Season 1 provides an end-of-campaign evaluation after the final month. Because later boxes and rules affect that evaluation, avoid calculating a “final score” early from incomplete information.
