Targi Scoring Explained: Tribe Rows, Goods & Endgame
Detailed examples and explanations for a specific rules question.
This focused reference supplements the complete game guide with additional explanations and worked examples.
What scores at the end?
Add victory-point tokens you still hold and printed victory points on your twelve-or-fewer Tribe cards. Then add bonuses from each completed row. Goods and gold are resources, not bonus victory points by themselves in the standard game.
Identical-symbol rows
The Tribe display has three horizontal rows of four cards. A completed row of four cards with the same symbol awards four extra victory points. This bonus is additional to the numbers printed on those cards.
Four-different-symbol rows
A full row with four distinct tribe symbols awards two extra victory points. Since five tribe symbols exist, you can choose any four different ones. A row with two copies of the same symbol cannot earn this bonus.
Unfinished rows
A partial row yields the points printed on its purchased Tribe cards, but no completed-row bonus. A four-card row that meets neither the same-symbol nor different-symbol test similarly earns no row bonus.
Example
Suppose your Tribe cards show a total of 21 printed points, you have 8 victory-point tokens, one identical-symbol completed row (+4) and one all-different completed row (+2). Your final score is 21 + 8 + 4 + 2 = 35.
Planning row completion
If you already own three matching cards in a row, a fourth of that type can be worth more than its printed points suggest. Conversely, buying an expensive Tribe only because it is a high-value card may leave multiple rows unfinished.
When does scoring occur?
Finish the round when someone obtains their twelfth Tribe card, or resolve the final robber raid as specified in the base game, then count points. Both players complete the appropriate actions for the final round.
