Bohnanza Harvesting & Scoring: Beanometers, Gold and Game End
Bohnanza converts bean fields into Gold using the Beanometer printed on each bean card. Final score is the number of Gold cards you earned.
Harvest the entire field
You cannot harvest only part of a field. Count every bean in the chosen field, then consult that bean type’s payout thresholds.
Turn payout cards into Gold
For the earned payout, take that many bean cards from the harvested field and turn them coin-side up into your Gold stack. Discard the remaining harvested bean cards.
Some small fields score zero
If the field has fewer beans than the first Beanometer threshold, you may have to harvest it for no Gold when a forced plant leaves no alternative.
Bean Protection rule
You cannot harvest a field containing only one bean while another of your fields contains more than one bean, unless a rule/variant changes that restriction.
Game end depends on the base-game draw-pile cycle
The discard pile is reshuffled when the draw pile empties. In the standard multiplayer structure, the game ends on the final exhaustion specified for the current player count; common 4–5 player play uses the third exhaustion, while some player-count variants alter this.
Harvest remaining fields at the end
When the game ends, harvest all remaining bean fields for their normal payouts. Cards still in hand do not become Gold.
Most Gold wins
Count the cards in your Gold stack. Highest total wins; use the tiebreak from the rulebook for the player-count version you are playing.
