Clue Suggestion vs Accusation Rules Explained
A suggestion gathers information. An accusation is your attempt to win the game.
Suggestion
When eligible in a room, name a suspect, weapon and that room. Other players attempt to disprove the suggestion in turn order.
Who shows a card?
The first player in the required order who holds at least one named card secretly shows you exactly one matching card of their choice.
What if nobody can disprove it?
That is powerful information, but cards in your own hand still matter. A named item you hold cannot be in the case file.
Accusation
An accusation names the suspect, weapon and room you believe are hidden in the case file. Check the envelope privately under the rulebook procedure.
What happens if you are wrong?
You cannot win after an incorrect accusation. Depending on the edition, you remain involved only as needed to reveal cards when other players make suggestions.
