How to Play Clue / Cluedo: Suggestions, Evidence & Accusations
In Clue / Cluedo, one suspect card, one weapon card and one room card are hidden in the case-file envelope. Everyone tries to determine those three cards by deduction.
Setup
Place one randomly selected suspect, weapon and room card into the case file without looking. Deal the remaining evidence cards among the players.
Move into rooms
Use movement to enter rooms. Corner rooms may be connected by secret passages depending on the current board.
Make a suggestion
When in a room, name a suspect and weapon together with that room. Move the named pieces as required. Starting with the next player in order, the first person able to disprove the suggestion privately shows you one matching card.
Take notes
Every card you hold or are shown cannot be in the case file. Track deductions on the detective sheet.
Make an accusation
When you think you know all three hidden cards, make a final accusation and check the case file according to your edition’s procedure. A correct accusation wins; an incorrect accusation removes your chance to win.
