How to Play Clank! Catacombs: Explore, Deck Build & Escape
Clank! Catacombs combines deck building with a dungeon that is revealed as you explore.
Scope: standalone Dire Wolf base game.
Play your full hand
Cards generate boots for movement, swords for combat, skill for acquiring new cards and other effects.
Explore the dungeon
Move through passages and reveal/connect new dungeon tiles when you enter unexplored areas.
Fight monsters
Spend swords to defeat monsters and avoid or reduce damage where the rules allow.
Generate Clank!
Some cards and spaces add your cubes to the Clank! area. During dragon attacks, cubes move into the bag and drawn cubes deal damage.
Collect an artifact
You must claim an artifact before you can complete a successful escape.
Use portals and prisoners
Catacombs-specific systems add teleportation, rescue rewards and modular-route tactics.
Escape
Return toward the surface before damage or the endgame timer catches you. Deeper treasure is valuable only if you survive with it.
