Bomb Busters Win & Loss Rules: Detonator, Red Wires and Empty Stands

The base-game objective is simple: remove every required wire from every stand before the bomb explodes.

Victory: all stands are empty

The team wins as soon as every wire required by the mission has been correctly cut/revealed and no wire remains on a player stand.

Failed Dual Cut

If the selected teammate wire does not match the announced value, the cut fails. Advance the detonator dial and place an Info token showing that selected wire’s actual value unless the mission says otherwise.

Detonator reaches the skull

If a failed action advances the detonator to the skull space, the bomb explodes and the team immediately loses.

Red wire

Cutting a red wire incorrectly causes an immediate explosion in the standard rules. Some missions introduce controlled ways to reveal or handle red wires, so mission text always takes precedence.

Yellow wires

Yellow wires are treated as the shared “yellow” value after setup rather than as their printed decimal setup numbers. Follow the mission’s special instructions for when and how they enter play.

Mission rules can add another failure condition

The campaign progressively adds equipment and special constraints. If a mission card conflicts with a generic base rule, use the mission-specific instruction for that scenario.
