How to Play Lisboa Deluxe Edition: Cards, Nobles & Rebuilding
Lisboa is a heavy card-driven eurogame about rebuilding Lisbon after the 1755 disasters. Every political card can be played to the Royal Court or into your personal Portfolio, creating very different action options.
Scope: Eagle-Gryphon Deluxe Edition base game; expansion variants excluded.
Play one political card
On your turn, choose a card from hand and play it either to the Royal Court or to your Portfolio.
Royal Court actions
Cards played to court let you visit Nobles. Noble actions support city rebuilding, public buildings, stores, influence and related administration.
Portfolio actions
Cards placed in your Portfolio strengthen your tableau and support trade, ships, goods and economic development.
Clear rubble
Rubble represents the aftermath of the earthquake, fire and tsunami. Clearing it is necessary for parts of the rebuilding system and can improve your player-board economy.
Open stores
Stores generate income and score based on their placement relative to streets, public buildings and other city features.
Build public buildings
Public buildings shape which streets and store locations become more valuable while contributing to reconstruction and final scoring.
Decrees
Decree cards provide personal end-game scoring conditions. Select them when your existing city and portfolio already support the requirement.
Game end
After the official end condition, score stores, decrees, city development, sets and other Deluxe Edition final categories.
