How to Play The Gallerist: Artists, Art, Visitors & Influence
The Gallerist is a worker-placement/economic game about manipulating artist fame, visitor traffic and art values while expanding your gallery’s international reputation.
Scope: Eagle-Gryphon core game; optional scoring expansion material excluded.
Move to one of four locations
Move your Gallerist pawn to a location and choose one of its available actions.
Discover or promote artists
Discovering creates new artists and may give you artist bonuses. Promotion increases fame, which changes art value and future market potential.
Buy and sell art
Purchase works from artists and later sell eligible works as fame and market value increase.
Acquire contracts
Contracts help sell specific art types and can provide money or strategic flexibility.
International market
Spend influence and assistants to develop international reputation and gain bonuses or final scoring.
Visitors
Collectors, investors and VIPs move through your gallery and plaza. Visitor mix affects money, influence and action strength.
Kick-out actions
If another player moves to your occupied location, you can receive a kick-out action before returning to your gallery, creating tactical value from being displaced.
Game end
When the official market/visitor/end conditions are met, resolve final scoring from art, influence, collectors, international reputation and other core categories.
