SCOUT Scoring & Round End: Captured Cards, Tokens & Hand Penalty

SCOUT scores what you captured and what opponents paid you for Scouting, then subtracts the cards you failed to play.

+1 for every captured card

Whenever your Show beats the previous Show, place those beaten cards face down in your scoring area. Each captured card is worth 1 point at the end of the round.

+1 for every Scout token

Whenever another player Scouts one card from your active Show, you receive a Scout token worth 1 point.

−1 for every card left in hand

When the round ends, subtract one point for each card still in your hand, except for the unbeaten-Show exception below.

Round-end condition 1: someone empties their hand

If a player makes a legal Show and has no cards remaining, the round ends immediately. Everyone scores normally; the player who went out has no hand-card penalty because their hand is empty.

Round-end condition 2: every opponent Scouts the same Show

If one player’s Show remains active through a full circuit because every other player Scouts instead of Showing, the round ends. The player who owns that unbeaten Show does not subtract the cards still in their hand.

Standard game length

Play the standard number of rounds for the player count—normally one round per player in multiplayer games—then add cumulative scores. Highest total wins.
