How to Play The Lord of the Rings: Duel for Middle-earth
Duel for Middle-earth is a dedicated two-player race between the Fellowship and Sauron with three different victory paths.
Three chapters
The game unfolds across three structured card displays. On your turn, take one currently available card or resolve a High Place option where legal.
Resource cards
Cards improve your economy and reduce the cost of future cards or landmarks.
Landmarks
High Places and landmark-style effects provide permanent benefits, map presence or strategic powers.
Ring quest
Quest symbols and card effects move the Fellowship and Nazgûl positions along the Ring track.
Alliances
People symbols build influence with Middle-earth’s peoples and can lead to an alliance victory.
Map control
Units and influence spread across the map, creating a territorial victory path.
Victory
The game ends immediately when one player satisfies the Ring, alliance or Middle-earth control condition.
