Everdell Scoring Explained: Cards, Events, Journey & Tiebreakers
Everdell final scoring adds base points on your city cards, point tokens, purple Prosperity-card points, claimed Events and Journey points. Players can finish at different times, but scoring waits until everyone has finished.
Researched rules guide. Checked September 20, 2026 against the current Everdell base-game rulebook used by our rules guide. Editorial standards.
Start with printed card points
Add the base victory points printed on the critters and constructions in your city. A card’s production or ability text does not create extra final points unless it explicitly says so.
Prosperity cards score their own condition
Purple Prosperity cards add end-game points based on their text. Evaluate the final city state after play is complete.
Claimed Events score separately
Add points from Basic and Special Events you successfully claimed. Meeting an Event requirement without actually claiming the Event does not make it yours.
Journey points are added at the end
Add the value of workers committed to Journey destinations according to the base rules. Those workers are part of final scoring rather than ordinary point tokens.
Worked total
Suppose your printed city cards total 34, point tokens add 8, Prosperity cards add 11, Events add 9 and Journey adds 5. Your final score is 67.
Ties compare Events, then resources
If totals tie, the player who achieved more Events wins. If still tied, compare remaining resources.
