Clue Strategy: Better Suggestions, Notes & Deduction
Clue rewards extracting more information from every suggestion rather than simply naming three cards you suspect.
Use your own cards deliberately
Naming one or two cards from your own hand can isolate the unknown element and make the response easier to interpret.
Track who could not answer
A player passing on a suggestion provides information too: they hold none of those named cards.
Watch reveal patterns
If the same player repeatedly disproves similar suggestions, compare the overlapping cards to narrow down which evidence they are likely showing.
Control what you reveal
If you have multiple cards that can disprove a suggestion, repeatedly showing the same known card can reveal less new information.
Accuse only when the deduction is complete
A wrong accusation removes your chance to win, so distinguish “nobody disproved this” from “all three cards must be in the envelope.” Your own cards and turn-order evidence still matter.
