Rummikub rewards keeping tiles flexible until the table gives you enough structure to create efficient manipulations.
Do not force the first possible 30
Opening early lets you manipulate the table on later turns, but an awkward 30-point meld can break useful combinations in your rack. Balance access to the table against rack quality.
Preserve flexible middle numbers
Middle values fit more potential runs than extremes. Duplicate numbers can support groups while also leaving run options open.
Read the entire table
After opening, table sets are a shared puzzle. Look for splits, extensions and transfers that allow multiple rack tiles to enter at once.
Use Jokers actively
Leaving a Joker on your rack risks a 30-point penalty. A recovered table Joker must be used immediately, so plan the destination before clearing it.
Endgame
As an opponent’s rack shrinks, prioritize getting high-value tiles and the Joker off your own rack even if the move is less elegant.
