Editorial analysis: For Sale rewards relative value. You do not need the best property if acquiring the second-best costs far less.
Compare property spread before bidding
If the top two Properties are close in value, paying a large premium to win first is inefficient. When the top card is far better than the rest, aggressive bidding is easier to justify.
Passing is a purchase decision
Passing locks in the lowest remaining Property and returns half your current bid. Sometimes an early pass preserves more wealth than fighting over a modest upgrade.
Coins remaining after phase 1 still count
Every coin not spent becomes part of final wealth. Evaluate a higher property against both its future selling advantage and the cash you sacrifice now.
In phase 2, read the Currency spread
Save your best Properties for rounds where the gap between the highest and middle Currency cards is large. When all revealed Currency values are close, a medium Property may be enough.
Track what opponents still hold
Properties are unique and previously played cards are visible. Late in phase 2, you can often estimate the maximum value each rival can reveal and choose the cheapest Property that beats it.
