Jenga Tower Setup & Top-Layer Rules Explained
A standard Jenga tower uses all 54 blocks and begins 18 stories high.
Three blocks per story
Place three blocks side by side to form a layer. The next layer is rotated 90 degrees so its blocks run at right angles to the layer below.
Build 18 starting stories
With 54 blocks and three blocks per story, the complete setup contains 18 levels.
Using the stacking sleeve
The included sleeve helps align the tower. After building, stand the sleeve upright and carefully remove it so the tower remains standing on its own.
How to build the top during play
Each removed block is placed on top at right angles to the layer beneath.
Complete a layer before starting another
The official rules require players to finish a three-block story before starting a higher story. A new level cannot begin while the level below is still incomplete.
